Meet Dr. Bud Kurwa, MD, FACS, FRCS(C)
Dr. Bud Kurwa is the Chief Surgeon and Medical Director of Kurwa Eye Center. A board-certified ophthalmologist practicing since 1985, he specializes in LASIK, cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and Conductive Keratoplasty for presbyopia. LASIK remains the most popular option for correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
For cataract surgery, Dr. Kurwa uses a precise 3 mm micro-incision technique performed without needles, injections, or stitches—typically about seven minutes per eye. This minimally invasive approach is designed for quicker recovery, minimal discomfort, and a lower risk of complications. Many patients notice improved vision shortly after surgery, and those choosing multifocal lens implants often experience clearer distance and near vision with less reliance on glasses for everyday tasks.
Dr. Kurwa is also a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 6,592,541, an ophthalmic surgical instrument he developed to improve safety and precision during cataract surgery.
